Do Bugs Need Drugs?
Bacteria & Viruses
Both viruses and bacteria cause infections, but antibiotics only work against bacteria.
Viral infections
Include colds, influenza, croup, laryngitis, chest colds (bronchitis), and most sore throats.
Are usually more contagious than bacterial infections.
If more than one person in the family has the same illness, it is likely a viral infection.
Can make you just as sick as bacterial infections.
Usually get better in 4–5 days but it might take as long as three weeks to fully recover.
Antibiotics do not work for viral infections
Bacterial infections
Are less common than viral infections.
Do not spread as easily from one person to another as viral infections.
Common examples include strep throat and some types
of pneumonia.
Antibiotics do work for bacterial infections, but are not always necessary

Blood pressure log
Blood pressure is the force of the blood pumped from the heart against the blood vessels. This force makes blood flow possible, delivering nutrients and oxygen to organs and tissues throughout the body.
High blood pressure occurs when there is too much pressure in your blood vessels. This can damage your blood vessels and cause health problems. Anyone can develop high blood pressure, but it becomes more common as you get older.
High blood pressure is similar to pumping too much air into a tire or balloon.

HPV Information
Human papillomavirus (HPV) infections are the most common
sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the world. There are over
100 types of human papillomaviruses, and 40 types are known
to affect the anus and genital area of humans. It is estimated that
around 75% of sexually active Canadians who have not been
immunized against HPV will have an HPV infection at some point
in their life. While most HPV infections will go away on their own
and not cause any symptoms, infection can sometimes lead to
genital warts and cancers.
